Annual Rummage Sale 2008 ~ Thank you to all who participated!
Each year St. James' sponsors a fantastic, well organized
rummage sale. The proceeds go to benefit various charities within our community, as well as helping to
launch other church outreach ministries.
Shoppers come from
all over southwest New Mexico, West Texas, and charitable groups from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico show up for the big day. It is a
ministry of love to provide affordable items to community residents and the very poor of Mexico. It is no
small affair and many, many shoppers look forward to the event each year. Merchanidise and proceeds reached an all time high this year.
The gathering of merchandise goes on throughout the year. It is housed at a local storage facility (or two).
The tasks of hauling, sorting, pricing and organizing kicks off early in the week and the sale begins
at 7:00 am on Saturday. Volunteers can never seem to beat the anxious shoppers to the doors that morning. It is a favorite
event for many seasoned yard sale enthusiasts. Write it on your calendar for 2009! We'll be there, tons of stuff and lots of fun! |
